Can the Viofo A119V3 changelog of 2.5 (2880x2160p@30fps) employ the H.264, or just the H.265, or "both"? Furthermore, Viofo considers 2880x2160P interpolated, yet states the aforesaid resolution does absolutely no help improving video quality at all. In this respect, why upgrade to 2.5 firmware whereby there is 'no' improvement of video quality? OFFICIAL 4K is the dominant 4K standard - 3840x2160P@30fps.

Hello,

When you set the resolution to 2880x2160p@30fps, the codec will be H.265 automatically. Except for 2880x2160p@30fps, A119 V3 supports both H.264 and H.265.

I ordered a Viofo A119 V3 with 2.4 Firmware. However, the unit I received came with 2.0 Firmware. In addition, the unit appeared used , having marks. I was specifically told via email I would receive the 2.4 firmware version. The menu settings were hampered with. I'm not happy with this. 11641165

Hello,

Really sorry for your unhappy experience!

Usually, there are three solutions for you to choose from. Please let me know which one it's acceptable for you.

1. Keep using the current dashcam and accept a partial refund from us. Then we can send you the firmware V2.4 for updating.

2. Get a new replacement from China and send this dashcam back to us. We'll also provide compensation for shipping.

3. Get a complete refund and send this dashcam back to us. We'll also provide compensation for shipping.

I've exchanged an abundance of emails with Viofo support, and I have found the same implementation as given others. A partial refund would suffice in the amount of $48.00 which I requested from Paypal. I've spent numerous hours trying to rectify this matter with Viofo support. Paypal stated if a resolution is not forthcoming, Paypal will credit me $48.00 which I am requesting; to forego any further issues, including shipping. Viofo support wished for me to ship the product back to China. Then, Viofo support said I was shipped the U.S. version and not the version from China (2.0 U.S) and (2.4 China). Then, Viofo support said they made a mistake. In lieu of all these problems, I believe the aforesaid amount credited back to me would remedy any further problems. I've spent more than enough time with this subject. I've been in the electronics arena for well over forty years and do not appreciate being taken advantage of. It is clearly evident that a used unit was sent to me, having marks, and the venue setting were changed. All information has been documented for future reference. Thank you very much for your time and consideration in this matter. Should you be willing to honor my request, please feel free to contact me at your convenience.

Sorry to bother you, but could you send me the 2.4 Bin file whereas i can flash the unit? We shall recommend Viofo as the leader in the dash cam industry. Thank you again.

I’m seeking some assistance regarding the Viofo A119 V3 changelog versions. I initially requested the Bin. File for 2.4, yet 2.5 is available and present on the Viofo website. Are both versions stable? I do not believe either version is an official release of Viofo. Irrespective of this, can I flash the 2.5 version and have the capability of using the codec H.264 with all video formats ‘except’ (2880x2160 P30)? Additionally, are there any differences in the two firmware versions (2.4 and 2.5)? All replies are appreciated.

Yes, V2.4 and V2.5 are both stable enough. V2.4 fixes video flickers in low light conditions. I'm attaching the firmware file of V2.4 for you. The changelog of V2.5 is on the website.

That's right. Except for 2880x2160 30fps, you can switch different codecs between H.264 and H.265.

Additionally, are there any differences in the two firmware versions (H.264 and H.265)?
The function of H.265 and H.264 are the same in the two firmware.

* I entered the Bin. file (2.4) and tried flashing the 2.0 version. Upon the first time, the A119 V3 did not update to 2.4. Upon downloading another Bin. file from here, the A119 V3 updated to 2.4. However, the unit did not flash, yet updated to 2.4. I've flashed numerous Viofo dash cams and all flashed (blinked) prior to updating. Why did the A119 V3 not flash (blink) but 'updated' and why did not the A119 V3 flash the first time? This is the unit purchased directly from Viofo with a 2.0 V. All replies are appreciated.
