well I stuck it out and thanks to your help I believe everything is in working order again. I did as you said and finally got the hang of it. I stepped it up from 1.2 one update at a time to 1.6. The camera is functioning again :) For some odd reason when i scroll thru the menu using the power button it does not get to the version iconn . I know i've seen it on here before but i cant seem to access it again. I see a total of 23 icons on 3 separate screens but not the version one.

Did a little more research and found this . Best of all I am now at 1.6 :)
Did I say I love tech forums ? Lol

Are you sure you're looking the correct place? There a two different settings menus on this camera.

The first one you access by pressing the settings button on the side of the camera. These are the camera settings.
The second one you access by pressing the on/off button 3 times and then the record button while the camera is turned on. These are the system settings.

These are the system settings.
You are right. Each mode has its own settings.
Overall camera has 4 modes: video, photo, review\playback, system.
Switch between modes with frontal Mode button, open the mode settings with side button.

I got corrupt video files with firmware 1.7 (0707). The recording stops when the file has reached the max file size of 4,3GB and the file is corrupt.

Is it possible, in the next fw release, to add a function to customize the "mode button" like the "menu button" in the video recording settings, instead the only the photo shoot mode? Now there are too much "shortcuts" for only one button :)
Thanks

Git2_V1.7.1_0818 - Quick Record dosent work even if is ON in settings.
I can´t confirm this. Both of my cameras work fine in quick recording mode. (FW 1.7.1_0818)
If you have switched it ON in the settings the cam starts recording when you short press the shutter button.

Can you share your full settings camera options?

I have written a very long wishlist that includes features I would like to be implemented and also all the bugs that occur. Whatever it may look like, I'm not hater, I just want to make camera better - I think that these features are very important and lot of experienced users will apreciate it.

Wishes:
1. Replace ISO setting button with two buttons: one for MIN. ISO LIMIT and the other for MAX. ISO LIMIT (then you can set auto ISO in certain range - for example auto ISO from 200 to 400 or 50-1600)
2. Add Flat color profile

Bugs to repair:
1. Gyro not working upside down
2. Gyro not working while max. zoom is used
3. Max zoom is interpolated despite it doesn't have to be (16/2.8=5.7Mpix - thats enough sensor area for 2K with gyro on) - just hope that image processor can cope with non-interpolated zoom.
4. Timelapse interval (there it starts to be a bit complicated but I hope you will understand it). You should select timelapse interval (lets say 30 sec. for example) and camera should choose correct exposure time within 30. sec. In current state it takes the photo after interval has passed and long exposure is not working in auto mode.
5. Please add AUTO LONG EXPOSURE feature - allows camera to choose correct exposure within entire exposure range (from 1/2000 to 1 min.) - important while shooting night photolapse. If there is set timelapse interval it will not exceed it (exposure must not be longer than timelapse interval). Normal AUTO EXPOSURE feature would just use times that are posibble to be handheld (within 1/2000 to 1/30).

Please consider even a response - but implementation of these would be just awesome :)
