I actually got a reply from GitUp about this feature.
This is not something that is implemented in camera software itself. You have to do it manually.
Check the new firmware zip file content. There is a file 'Readme for V1.4 Firmware.docx', where you can find step-by-step instructions about calibrating the sensor, and hopefully solve the hot pixels issue.

I have the same problem (dark spot and hot pixels), and I'll try this method before returning the camera and asking for a refund.
