Hi:

3 months ago I bought a gitup git2 which has the latest firmware (1.6)

In all this time the camera has been a headache for me. Before I had a cheap Chinese camera that gave me better results than gitup (sj4000 clone)

The problem is that in all this time the videos are very dark. I have tried with all the settings to correct the exposure, but nothing works.

However the photos take the settings very well.

I do not understand anything, it seems that my camera only applies the changes of setting for the photos, but when I record videos, they do not consider them.

Can I go back to the previous version to try out (1.5)?

regards

Yes, it is possible to install older firmware by the same way as update (but not earlier that 1.4).
Could you show the example of your dark video (or screenshot)? I assume the changing of exposure metering would help (for example I like Metering:CarDVR for my bike videos).

git2 is very good quality for video recording, just checking, when you change the settings for video, you ar in the video mode, as there are similar settings in both video and photo mode, some people have changed one thinking they would apply to the other. Also because the camera is higher megapixel than sj4000, each pixrl taakes in less light and so isnt as good in low light. where have you been taking the video?

Hi Alister and thanks for your response.

I tried into video mode, without success.

I'm preparing a video series with differents settings. The results are evident. Hold on.

Hi again:

I made 5 test with different settings.

compensation exposure = -2
iso = auto
res = 1080p

compensation exposure = +2
iso = auto
res = 1080p

compensation exposure = +2
iso = auto
res = 720p

compensation exposure = 0
iso = auto
res = 1080p

compensation exposure = 0
iso = 1600
res = 1080p

This is the scene.

You can see that my gitup is a crap!.. sorry, but I'm very ungry

This is the scene.
All is ok with your camera.
The longer exposure time gives better result in low light. Photo mode can use very long exposure time up to 1 minute for one photo.
But due to the frame rate, the video mode has limit of exposure time.
I recommend to use 2160p with 24 fps and low contrast option for low light, for the darkness is recommended to use an external LED lighting even with DSLR camera.
p.s. Here is an exceptional example of ultra high ISO of Sony A7RII (about 2500 usd without lens). It is one of the best cameras for the darkness. The ISO reaches the 100000 and higher (but exposure is fixed to 1\50 sec).

I made three new tests following your suggestions. These are the results.

compensation exposure = 0
iso = auto
res = 1080p 30fps

compensation exposure = 0
iso = auto
res = 2106p 24fps

compensation exposure = +2
iso = 1600
res = 2106p 24fps

Looks a bit better. But that's all what this camera can do at the night.
Have you set low contrast option?
