Another A119S v2 & GPS issue

I originally bought a v1 but, after reporting problems with it I was sent a v2 backplate and new mount which I fitted. Unfortunately, I've always had problems with the GPS logger on my V2 - as in, it's never passed through power to the camera and only intermittently provides any GPS data - but recently, one of the 'pins' (the one closest to the mounting point) snapped off. I'm sure I read somewhere that 2 of the pins provide the power connection and the other 2 provide the data connection. So, if this is the case, can someone tell me which pair provide which connection?

I've also seen something about putting foam in the back of the camera to improve the connection - please can someone explain this.
