How to Customize the Video Stamp for GitUp Action Camera

A special stamp number on your video can not only make them easy to identify, but also memorable. For example, when you are recording your family party, if the video shows not just date on the down-right corner, but also some words like "Christmas party for 2015 ", it must be interesting and meaningful. What's more, if you use it as dash camera, you could customize the stamp number as your car license number that make it's easy to identify in some conditions.
As for Git1, it supports this kind of function and can be easily worked.
1. Create a new .txt document and copy below text to the file and save it as “CarLicenseNum.txt”(http://www.gitup.com/support/CarLicenseNum.txt):
Show_Car_License_Number:On
Set_Car_License_Number:GITUP GIT1 ACTION CAMERA#
(Notice:Red font which will display on your video can be customized by yourself. It supports maximum 31 characters including the space, but only allow 0~9, a-z, A-Z characters for the moment.This is probably the first camera supports such long characters shown on the video.)
2. Copy the "CarLicenseNum.txt" file to your SD card root directory.
3. Insert your SD card into your Git1.
If you set the Show_Car_License_Number to be “On”, then you can see the stamp on your video.

With the Git2 you have to remove that line Show_Car_License_Number:On and only use the second line. The custom stamp must be enabled to On in the settings instead.

Just put that file on the root of the SDCARD.

I have tried this with my new Git2, and it does not work. I have enabled the custom stamp in settings but still no joy. I have upgraded to the newest firmware as of yesterday. I created the file on my Mac as a plaintext file. Suggestions?

I'm also experiencing this problem. I bought a new Git2 running FW 1.6 (GIT2_V1.6_1028) out of the box. I placed the CarLicenseNum.txt file, with this single line, in the root of the SD card:

Set_Car_License_Number:Test-Stuff#

then dismounted the camera from the PC and rebooted it. "Custom Text Stamp" is set to On in the Git2 options, but test videos only show the datestamp.

I did FINALLY get it working. I found I couldn't use any characters like hyphens - only A-Z and 0-9. The camera was reading the config file, finding the hyphen and aborting the configuration change because it doesn't apparently support hyphens in the custom text area, only alphanumerics and spaces. I wonder if this is just a software limitation, as the field was originally meant for car number plates?

@gitup, any possibility of supporting a full character set in future firmware so people can use symbols?
