Gitup Git2 mic issues?

I purchased the Git2 with the external microphone. I plugged into the mini usb port and it does not pick up the sound from the external mic but only from the camera. I looked at all the settings to see if their is a way to enable it but can't find anything. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I'm doing wrong?

Actually, when I plug in the external mic and make a video, there is no sound what so ever

Yes. That's how I view all my videos of course

Because I do know that there is no speaker on the git2 for playback (from what I understand). I also own a Sjcam 5000+ and a Sjcam 4000. I love gadgets

If you are loosing all sound when connecting the mic, the camera is switching the internal mic off. Have you tested the mic on another camera or tried another mic?

Unfortunately, I have no other type device that I can try the mic on. I know the usb port is working because I can charge the battery through the port and as you mentioned, it cancels out the internal mic when external is connected.

In addition, my Sjcam cameras use the micro usb port plus I don't believe they are setup anyway to use an external mic

No, the SJ Cams do not offer an external mic function. That is why I went with the Git2. I have a SJ4000 (before they started branding it). Do you have any older devices that does sound recording (old mp3 or an old phone) that you could connect the mic to?

Nope, can't think of anything I may have that I could check the mic with. I'll figure something out. I was hoping my old Archos Jukebox Recorder 20 had mic in using mini USB but no luck.

Hey guys I just bought a GoPro 3.5mm Mic Adapter (GoPro OFFICIAL ACCESSORY) and i already have a Vivitar Professional Directional Condenser Shotgun Microphone and still not getting any sound, I got the same problem with the Movo GMA100 3.5mm Female Microphone Adapter Cable to fit the GoPro HERO3, HERO3+ & HERO4 , there's no sound on my videos, and I'm wondering if my git2 is broken or something because no adapter work's, I already try the vivitar mic with my iphone and work's perfectly, so dont know what is the big problem!! HELP

It is hard for us to judge if it is the camera issue, as we haven't heard such issue before, we suggest you use the USB mic for testing to confirm the the external MIC works.

Which microphone do you suggest? I also need an adapter miniusb-jack, do you know one that works?

MIKEY, why?! Its $20!! What is so special about it other that its seems to be one of the few mics that work?
