If you want it multifucntion, put an IR filter over the lens and then it wont have purple hue. The puple hue is because you are capturing natural IR radiation. which you get in daylight...

You will need to use something like dashcamviewer, as the gps coordinates are in the video, when you load it up it can show you a map, then you can reedit the video on a computer with map overlayed. This is completeley 3rd party software, the camera will just embed necessary data

Thats correct, there are a lot of youtube videos of people removing the IR cut filter from cheap webcams, and you get the same pink view.
