I think this would be a major improvement for the firmware 1.5.
When the recording is played through the miniHDMI connection, a timer and a pause indicator appears. This dirties playback. I think it would be better not show up anything during playback by miniHDMI, as it is assumed you are playing by connecting the camera to a TV full hd to enjoy your recording, and anything like this that also displays information that is not needed is very frustrating because it distracts you from watching the recording, which is important and spoils playback.

And texts and icons of sharpness in the options "low" and "high" do not correspond. When you choose this setting you do not know which of the two is fine, if the text or drawing. I think it's an easy mistake to correct.
Thank you.

Sorry, I forgot to say that the error is on the menu in SPANISH, translation is incorrect.
SOFT translates it as "BAJA" and should say "SUAVE" or "ALTA"
STRONG translates it as "ALTA" and should be "BAJA".
Hence, icons and text does not match in Spanish menu.

Hello guys, two questions:
1) When the definitive 1.5 (non-beta) release will be available?
2) Does, flashing the new fw, will clean all the engmode calibration data? In less words: should I re-calibrate it after flashing the fw?

Firmware v.1.5.beta Suggestions and Tips

The current screen timeout minimum of 1 minute is very frustrating, especially at night while trying to be discrete!
I only need 2 seconds before the screen needs to go off, so it should stay on while button pressing but after last button press it should go off after 2's, 3's, 5's, 10's, 15's, my Sony audio recorder has 15's before light goes out and this is like forever to me as it no good for discrete recording or at night, some people need this camera for security reasons, and it would save on battery life.

In Battery Charge Mode make the screen go BLACK for 3 seconds with an Amber GitUp Animated Logo because it takes a whole minute to go off! and would actually make a good Torch it's so bright! So use that as a free added feature! Menu Botton priority Torch On Off, could help you find an Micro Sd Card lost in a field!

REMOVE Contrast settings as they are not used and either add to much contrast or not enough, can't see the point with all the other apeture settings seem very good.

ADD a VOX feature , recordings activated by SOUND, so settings for VOX, activate at 10db, 5db, 3db, or 0db.

ADD the ability to Change the SSID and Password for security use as it shows up as GIT2CAM now anyone can download instructions and get the password and log into your cam, not good if you live in a rough neighbourhood and your camera is showing up on everyones wifi box as GIT2CAM. Its a shame as the git2 pro works very well in low light and the 19 steps of Auto ISO is an excellent addition.

Tips n Tricks - Jerky Frame Rates?

If your having problems playing back 2160P 24fps files, these will appear jerky playing back via HDMI so here's how to fix this. When recording make sure to only use branded Class-10 MicroSD cards that are freshly formatted by the device. You can also get Panasonic's SD Formatter for free for PC.

Transfer the files to most powerful PC you have, these files need quite a bit of processor to play, so try transferring files to a fast internal hard disc or fast external drive, download VLC Player and make sure you have the latest version! then after installing latest version reboot and try the files direct from the PCs hard drive. Other lesser files like 1440P and lower should play ok via HDMI to monitor but 2160P will suffer frame loss

Wrist Remote Tips!

Goto System settings screen then press menu , click Quick Capture ON, scroll to next page by pressing the power button momentarily until you get to RC Pairing click the shutter button to select this and follow the pairing on screen instructions, then! scroll to RC OPERATION MODE set it to "STANDARD" it should now power up and record with one press, and from standby mode.

Hello, I am using the latest 1.5beta 0512. It fixed the quick start/stop of video recording by shutter button while screen is off. But, in same situation, when I use a remote control, I need to push button twice to start/stop a video since the 1st push wake a video screen, then the 2nd push start/stop a vide. Is there any possibility to change this to just one push? (same as shutter button?) This also confuse to start/stop a video from a remote control. Some of good recommendation here would be:

- Push remote control button, it immediately work as an original function (video, photo, wifi, power-off)
- If it is not power-off, it also wake a video screen together
- No need to push a button twice for wake a screen, then change a condition

I very much appreciate you can make this change similar to the shutter button while a video screen is sleeping.
I had this problem with the two button pushes to record. Heres what you do:
Wrist Remote Tips!
Goto System settings screen then press menu , click Quick Capture ON, scroll to next page by pressing the power button momentarily until you get to RC Pairing click the shutter button to select this and follow the pairing on screen instructions, THEN! scroll to RC OPERATION MODE set it to "STANDARD" it should now power up and record with one press, and from standby mode.

1. Will add 15s option for screen save options.
2. Contrast option is very useful for some users, especially for low contrast
3. The APP will support to change the SSID and password. If you want to change it now, do you mind change it by Wi-Fi command?

Hello Everybody,
Nobody talked about the fisheye effect.
As I'm not filming myself 100% of the time, it can be annoying.
Do you think GIT Up could work on a fisheye correction option in the firmware? With that, the camera would be prefect (to me).
For a while GITUP Git2 was the best price related camera. I bought the sj5000x elite for a friend, and to be franck, until last March, that was so so bad! But SJcam did an really excellent work with their new firmware.
I'm GITUP, not sjcam, so please, do something!! :) ( and I don't wan't to change the lens)
Thank you

I am using GIT2_V1.5B_0512 version and am still unable to make the custom text work. I have enabled custom text in the System Menu, and have placed a file named CarLicenseNumber in the root of the disc. The file contains the single line Set_Car_License_Number:GITUP GIT1 ACTION CAMERA#. Is anyone else having this problem? This feature worked about three upgrades ago, but broke somewhere along the upgrade path.

Hi.
Probably been mentioned elsewhere but I would really like to see standard NTSC frame rates 30000/1001 or 29.97 fps and 60000/1001 or 59.94 fps. All my other cameras use these standard rates so an extra step in post is required to sync them up and it's a real pain.

Thanks

I downloaded the specific file for 1.5 beta, format my sd card, copy it to the card, reconnected. But the filware was not getting updated. Then extracted the files in the root and then reconnected. Both the red and green lights started blinking and the version changed to 1.5.

The fisheye effect is realy annoying, Is there any way to correct it, rather than changing the lens?
Pls help

Hi, I recently bought the Gitup Git 2 and tried to update the firmware; however, the screen won't turn on at all anymore.
This is what I did:
1. Formatted my card to FAT32, then inserted back into camera and it worked well.
2. Downloaded the firmware 1.2 off the website, unzipped it (I have a mac if that makes a difference), and with my camera linked to my computer, i put the unzipped file "GIT2FW.bin" on the card. (When they said root of the card, I assumed just on the card). I then withdrew the USB from the computer, and tried to turn on the camera, in which the lights would turn on, but no screen. I tried again, the same procedure and it did not work.
3. After trying several times, I connected the camera with the card back to the computer, then went to disk utility to fully erase it. This included the folder that was there in the beginning (Start with a D i believe). I then tried the whole process again, using GIT2FW, and even trying an earlier version. Nothing works...what ends up happening is that the lights on the camera (the green and red light) will flash quickly and slowly, as if the upgrade was occurring; however, every time I go to remove the file after the upgrade from the card, the screen doesn't work. I am now at the point where I can't even turn on the camera, the lights won't even show.

If someone could please help, would be much appreciated.

I'd like to try the 1.5 beta, but at the moment only have a 64GB card. Do I need to get a smaller card if I'm going to this from the 1.4 firmware?

Just updated to 1.5b,

In thier instruction they they say how to connect to wifi, I did manage to do that, but then what? What is it for? How to use it? What can I do with my git2 being connected to wifi router? How to access it wirelessly?

How to connect Git2 with the wireless router?
1. Set the Wi-Fi mode on AP mode
2. Put the client.txt file in the SD card root directory, change the SSID and password
3. If set the Wi-Fi auto start option as off, you need long press the Wi-Fi button to enable the Wi-Fi and then connect the router automatically.
4. If set the Wi-Fi auto start option as on, it will connect with router automatically after powered on.

What is WIFI mode Station/AP ?

Please include exFat support in next firmware release. If not possible in official release, just "leak" test firmware with exFat support.
Thanks!

Great to have the 1.5 version :)
However, I still have problems connecting my git2 with my Oneplus One.
I expected that this version would fix some issues connecting the camera to some smartphones. At least, RC controller works well and I'll wait for future releases...maybe I'll be lucky.
Regards!
