Ok, but I'm not talking here about very dark conditions. I mean a full sun on the snow - super bright. The footage is much darker than on Hero3 for instance on auto settings. Can I avoid that somehow?
Yes, use EV setting and increase it +1/3, +2/3, etc.

Hello Gitup! Thank you for your awesome Git2 camera! I use it as a photo camera while flying my drone. Can't help to wonder do you plan adding an HDR option in photo mode? There is an WDR option in video mode and it's working quite good. Is it possible to do the same for photo shooting?

Use RAW format and use image processing software, the results are very good and you cam make some nice HDR with apps like photoshop or automatix hdr.

Hello everyone!

I'm expecting my Git2 PRO to arrive in next few days...

Any suggestions before i start using it?
What is the most stable firmware?
And what 64GB MicroSD card would you recommend? ( I'm thinking about PNY 64gb, writting speed 80mb/s )

I've always used sandisk extreme and never had any issues. I'm also using the latest stable firmware and not had any issues with this either.

I´m using 128GB Samsung evo and 128Gb SanDisk ultra. Both works fine.
The latest firmware is stable. I recommend the mod2 firmware with higher bitrate on 1080p.

If the memory card is full, you can not view the video camera. The camera has an error memory card. If the card vacant for example, when connected to a PC, and delete one video) and everything works normally.

Can the GIT2 firmware work with the GIT2P?
I did see/hear that there is now a 170° version available. Would be interesting to see side-by-side comparison with GIT2.

Firmware from Git2P is not compatible with Git2 (sony sensor). Simply it will not start the updating process. Early GitUp said the Git2p will have its own firmware line.

Bad part about this is you can't use the phone APP to configure the camera because V1.0 doesn't like the APP. That was not mentioned in the adverting else I would have purchased the the Git2.
As for waisting time trying the impossible, it doesn't tell you why it ignores the update BIN files, it just skips it and lets you go throught the entire menu to check the version number again and again.
Why would you create a pro version of a product and leave it until last to update the firmware. That is like buying a top of the line PC with Windows XP.
Git your act together people.

@gitup would it be possible to implement switch off timer into camera or app? Let's say, I would like camera to record timelapse for half an hour and then to switch off automatically.

It would be also useful to start recording via app then disconect the camera and continue recording (I'm not sure, what happens if you do this recently, but I think, that it freezes or stops recording).

As for Git2P, the 0328 is the latest version at this time.
Git2 and Git2P have different firmwares due to the different sensors and optics.
Firmware 1.6 is for Git2, not compatible with Git2P.

Newbie here so please bare with me.
I was in the process of updating from 1.2 and I've obviously done something very wrong as now all I have is a black screen and it will no longer register when I connected to the computer. It apparently still charges as the white screen will pop on showing a full charge and I also believe I heard three beeps which I'm assuming might denote a full charge?
Where do I begin to bring this back to life thank you for your assistance .

I was in the process of updating from 1.2
Scroll down to the section "Upgrade Instructions for V1.2 or earlier":
http://www.gitup.com/content/8-how-to-upgrade-the-firmware-for-gitup-git2-and-git2p
You have to update from 1.2 to 1.3 version then from 1.3 to 1.4. From the version 1.4 you can update to 1.5 or 1.6.
Old firmwares have two files GIT2FW.bin and GIT2LD.bin.
Update process has two stages. 1) update loader Git2LD.bin; 2) update firmware;
Just read instructions carefully and try again (maybe with another card).

First let me say thank you for being here . I didn't know how quick the response time would be .
My first concern is that the camera no longer is recognized by the computer when i plug it in as it first was .
Can i Still do what you suggest with the camera not responding to either the computer or even have the led screen on the cam functioning. Its basically black with the exception of the charging white screen showing up.
One additional point the sd card was originally in the camera and was functioning properly so I do not think it would be the card but again I am new at this .
Would the card already be FAT32 format ?

Yes, of course. If camera is not recognized then use card reader.
Try to place git2ld.bin by the first step then insert card to camera and connect camera to PC. Update process will start for few seconds (with blinking leds).
Next step, delete git2ld.bin (via card reader) and place git2fw.bin to the card, also insert card to the camera and connect camera to PC for firmware update start.

Ok we are making headway . I did the first part and i get the Mass storage green bar screen and the option of PC camera.
The git2fw file is zip file. Do i unzip that file and use a certain file from the folder?
Also at this stage when i disconnect the camera the screen goes black is that normal ?
